Le guitariste RON « BUMBLEFOOT » THAL (ex-GUNS N’ ROSES, ex-SONS OF APOLLO, …) sortira son nouvel album solo, intitulé BUMBLEFOOT…RETURNS! le 24 janvier 2025.
30 ans après son premier album solo instrumental, le musicien revient à ses racines avec cet album dans lequel on retrouve une pléiade d’invités comme Brian May, Steve Vai, Guthrie Govan, Derek Sherinian ou bien Jerry Gaskill.
BUMBLEFOOT déclare :
« Cela fait 30 ans que j’ai sorti mon premier album ‘Adventures Of Bumblefoot’ chez Shrapnel Records et je n’avais pas fait d’album entièrement instrumental depuis. En écrivant pendant la pandémie, ces chansons sont devenues la bande-son de ma vie — des grognements lourds de la guitare fretless aux hommages bluesy à des légendes comme Lonnie Johnson. C’est un reflet des moments qui m’ont façonné. »
Il ajoute :
« Travailler sur l’album de WHOM GODS DESTROY m’a inspiré des plans heavy et à la fretless, comme dans ‘Simon In Space’. Regarder un documentaire sur le blues a inspiré ‘Moonshine Hootenanny’. Perdre des êtres chers m’a conduit à écrire ‘Funeral March’. Les chansons deviennent la bande-son de nos vies. »
